Growing Up in Clarion and Coming Back Home
Sara Seidle-Patton was born and raised in Clarion, the daughter of Thomas Seidle, now of Seminole, and Mary (MacKinlay) Whitmire, now of Venus. She grew up on Barber Street in Clarion with her parents and her younger siblings, Annie Seidle and Jay Seidle, now both of Scotch Hill. She attended Clarion Area High School and then Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA, where she graduated with a degree in Political Communications.
After college, she worked as a staff writer for The Leader Vindicator in New Bethlehem, PA covering local government and writing local interest stories. Fulfilling her long-time goal, she enrolled in Duquesne University School of Law in 2003, graduating with her Juris Doctor degree in 2006. She returned to Clarion in the Fall of 2006, with her husband, Michael Patton, to start her legal career as Assistant District Atttorney for Clarion County.
While working to grow their businesses, Sara and Michael also decided to start a family, welcoming their daughter, Samantha in July 2010. They live on a farm in Clarion Township, where they raise chickens, honey bees and their Corgi, Cleo. In her free time, when she's not running her business or running Samantha to her activities, Sara likes to run half marathons, work in her flower garden and knit.
